This stately art deco house in Boechout had lost the harmony of its previous design due to extreme renovations. The client wanted to restore this property to its previous glory as well as to implement an energy-efficient design.
NERGY-EFFICIENT DESIGN
The focus of this restoration was the ground floor that needed to be adapted to the style of the existing house. Our energy-sufficient design departed from the original façade: the triple vertical bay will be extended to the ground floor. In analogy with the small window atop the stairwell, a focus will be installed in the thick-wall structure on the ground floor to create a depth effect.
OPTIMAL INSULATION TAILORED TO TODAY’S NEEDS
We have adjusted the property to an energy-efficient house design with a contemporary comfort level. Therefore we chose:
- to insulate floor, roof and some walls
- to use insulating windows
